Jamshedpur: A 20-member team of National Defence Academy (NDA) officials visited Tata Motors plant on Tuesday and inspected the manufacturing process.
The team also visited Tata Steel and XLRI Jamshedpur. Its members were impressed to see the world class manufacturing process in the Tata companies. They learnt about the state-of-the-art technology used in the plants.
In view of the visit, security was tightened at the Sonari Airport and other venues visited by the delegates. Sources said the visit is vital in view of the fact that the Indian Army has ordered Tata Motors to construct 200 vehicles. The Tata brand, known world over for its quality, is drawing the attention of defence agencies across the globe, sources said.
