2 Ranchi RIMS doctors among 41 positives up Jharkhand corona tally to 1764

Ranchi, June 14: The corona graph is increasing in Jhrakhand with every passing day. The positive cases crossed 1700 on Saturday. On Sunday 41 new cases surfaced in the state till the filing of this report. The cases in Jamshedpur have reached 249 with 14 new cases reported on Sunday, June 14. East Singhbhum DC Ravi Shanker Shukla confirmed about the detection of 14 new cases in the district and informed that all the new patients have been admitted to COVID-19 ward. Of the 14 new cases 10 have come up from Mousabani, 2 from Bagbera and one each from Sakchi and Chakulia. All the 14 have travel history of which 5 have returned from Andhra Pradesh, 3 from Gujarat, 2 from Delhi, one each from Ghaziabad and Mumbai.

Of the 41 new cases in Jharkhand 14 have been reported from Simdega, 14 from Jamshedpur, 9 from RIMS in Ranchi which includes two doctors, one case each has come up from West Singhbhum, Chatra, Gumla, Hazaribagh taking the total positives in Jharkhand to 1764. In RIMS Ranchi 503 samples were tested of which 11 were tested positive while 476 cases were negative. Seven people were discharged from RIMS after defeating the virus. In West Singhbhum Manjhari resident 28-year-old man who returned to Chaibasa from Red Zone Chennai on May 22 with five others has tested positive. On their arrival they were put in quarantine centre at Loreto School in Gandhi Tola. Five person were tested positive on Saturday while the sixth person�s report came on Sunday. All have been admitted to COVI-19 Hospital in Chakradharpur. Total of 52 people have tested positive in West Singhbhum of which 36 cases are still active.
The migrant labourers who returned over the last one month, around 1300 have contributed to the state tally. East Singhbhum has become the new hot spot in the state with 180 active cases.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. Earlier, two intern doctors at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) were found to be Covid-19 positive, health officials said, adding that they had a recent travel history.
East Singhbhum district accounts for 249 cases out of a total of 1764.
The recovery rate in Jharkhand has improved to 48 percent after 18 more patients have recovered from the COVID19 infection today.
In a significant recovery shown by patients, all 109 patients confirmed in Dhanbad district have recovered from COVID-19. The last set of 14 patients of Corona who were admitted were also discharged today from the hospital. Dhanbad district is left with no active cases.
So far, the total number of cases confirmed in the state is 1764. This includes two doctors treating the COVID-19 patients at RIMS hospital in Ranchi who have been detected Corona positive, according to the reports received today.
834 people have recovered from the disease and have been discharged from hospitals, while 8 people have succumbed to the infection. In total, there are 893 active cases in the state undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
Presently, 49,545 people have been quarantined at quarantine centres while close to 3 lakh people, who returned from different states, have been home quarantined by the state government. Meanwhile, 1,03,905 samples have been tested in the state, out of which 1,02,194 samples have tested negative. Around 1,100 migrant workers returning from Red Zone areas have been detected Corona positive so far. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed his concern over the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the state. Soren while talking to reporters said that the State Government is evaluating all aspects together to take a responsible decision on imposing Lockdown again
