2 nabbed, 5 stolen bikes recovered in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 14:Jamshedpur police  busted a vehicle theft gang active in Sitaramdera police station area with the arrest of two notorious criminals with five stolen motorcycles.

The arrested accused have been identified as Taufik alias Babu, a resident of Old Purulia Road, Azad Nagar and Supriyo Ghosh, a resident of MGM police station area, Mango.

The police saw both of them roaming in a suspicious condition near the bus stand and searched them after suspecting their activities during interrogation. After the search, five stolen motorcycles were recovered from both of them, which were stolen from different areas of the city – Sitaramdera, Jubilee Park, Bistupur, Kapali and near Kali Mandir on the National Highway.

The arrested accused are not new criminals. Supriyo Ghosh has been to jail earlier in serious cases like murder, POCSO and rape. He was recently released from jail two months ago after serving a sentence of five years and again became active in theft incidents.

Police say that interrogation of both the criminals is going on and there is a possibility that information about other members of this gang can also be obtained. They are believed to be behind the continuous bike theft incidents in the city. Police is busy investigating the entire network.
