Jamshedpur, Nov 19: Two women died in a cave-in that took place near railway tracks close to Vidyut Nagar in Adityapur. The bodies were sent for post mortem by officials of the Adityapur police station who are investigating the case.

Police officials informed that the victims – Manju Sanwaiya and Tuntun, residents of Vidyut Nagar – had gone to the railway tracks to get some soft clay to coat their houses. A portion beside the rail line has been dug up for the laying of a third pair of railway tracks and women staying nearby often gather there to get clay.

As the women were scooping up clay, the cave-in occurred and the two got trapped under a huge mound of earth. By the time rescue work began the women had died. A large number of local residents gathered at the spot as the rescue work began and later police took away the bodies.
