Jamshedpur: The 1996 batch (C Unit) students of RD Tata High School organized Guru Samman Samaroh at Cable Welfare Club, Golmuri, on Tuesday. The programme was jointly inaugurated by Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP president Dinesh Kumar, also a former student of RD Tata School, social worker Shiv Shankar Singh and former teachers of the school. It began with the paying of floral tributes to Sarvapalli Dr Radhakrishnan. The guests felicitated 20 teachers of the 1996 batch by gifting them shawls, bouquets and mementoes.
Dinesh Kumar said such events should be organized regularly so that the former students may get an opportunity to honour their teachers. He thanked the teachers for their valuable contribution to society.
The teachers honoured today included BK Yadav, DR Yadav, Y Pundit, JC Sahu, SK Jha, U Giri, RN Sharma, BN Singh, SKP Singh, Shanti Madam, Uma Madam and VD Singh.
