ADLS Sunshine School hosts CISCE selection trials with participants from 23 schools
Jamshedpur, June 28: ADLS Sunshine School hosted the CISCE Zonal Karate Selection Trials 2026, bringing together nearly 200 young karate players from schools across the city. The one-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation and showcased the sporting talent of students in different age categories.
Former Indian cricketer and Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Secretary Saurabh Tiwary attended the event as the chief guest, while Dr. Hassan Imam Mallick, International Handball Coach and Executive – Health & Wellness, Sports Division, Tata Steel, was the guest of honour.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp in the presence of the chief guest, guest of honour, ADL Society President Y. Ishwar Rao, Chairman N.V.R. Murty, Honorary Secretary M. Kamal Kumar, Honorary Treasurer P. Simhadri Rao, Jharkhand Goju Ryu Karate Do Association Honorary Secretary L. Nageshwar Rao, Principal Manju Singh, and other members of the school management.
A total of 196 participants, including 100 boys and 96 girls from 23 schools, competed in the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories. The selection trials were conducted to identify talented karate players who will represent the zone in the upcoming CISCE-level championships.
