Jamshedpur, Sept 19: Two youths belonging to the same community have been accused of gang raping an 18-year-old girl of another community at Hudco Dam area under Telco Police Station on Friday night.
Police arrested Barinagar residents Md. Aalid and Md. Shakir and sent them to jail. Both the arrested are drivers. According to reports, incident took place on Friday, September 18 at around 7 pm in the evening. The girl left home for Kadma Ganesh Puja Mela and sat on an auto in Birsanagar.
Auto driver along with friend instead of Kadma took the girl to Hudco area and on the way they also molested her. At Hudco area they raped the girl and in the meanwhile commuters in the area after hearing the sound complained to the Police.
Soon police and locals of the area reached the spot and arrested both the culprits and beat them up. Police took them to the police station and also seized the tempo.
When police enquired about the incident with the girl, She said that both the boys seduced her and took her to Hudco Dam area. Police helped conduct medical examination of the girl at MGM Hospital. On the statement of the girl rape and molestation case was registered.
After the matter came into light on Saturday locals of Kharangajhar created ruckus and burnt a shop at the market and protested before the Telco Police Station on Saturday.
Locals also damaged a three wheeler while BJP activists protested at Telco Police Station and demanded removal of tempo stand from the area.
