16 Jamshedpur workers stranded in J&K, demand for safe return

Seraikela, May 11: BJP leader Ramesh Hansda submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Praveen Kumar Gagrai, demanding that 16 laborers of Kolhan stranded in Jammu and Kashmir be brought back home safely.

The relatives of laborers who reached the DC office along with BJP leader Ramesh Hansda to seek help said that 16 laborers from different areas of Kolhan division had gone to Jammu and Kashmir 15 days ago in search of work, but are now in trouble.

“They have been taken hostage  and their mobile has been snatched so that they cannot contact anyone. The laborers are being forced to work by giving one time meal. The trapped laborers in Kashmir include Pathar Sardar, Ranglal Mahato, resident of Rajnagar’s Kunabeda, Jai Singh and Ashish Singh, residents of Potka, among others,” alleged Ramesh Hansda

All these laborers have gone to Jammu and Kashmir for work, where everything was going smoothly for a week. After that the contractor there stopped giving food to those laborers and is forcing them to reduce it. Everyone is being closed at night.

Three days back, laborer Pathar Sardar, a resident of Kunabeda, Rajnagar, secretly called up his relative Radhe Sardar and told that 16 laborers of Kolhan have been imprisoned with him. The laborer Pathar Sardar asked for 11000 rupees on a mobile number so that he could return to his village from there. After this, no trace of those people has been found till now.
