Jamshedpur, April 30. The district administration launched an intensive vehicle checking campaign against illegal mining and transportation in East Singhbhum district. During the campaign launched late on Saturday night, 16 Hyvas (heavy vehicles) loaded with sand and ballast were seized from State and National Highways and kept in different police stations.
In the intensive vehicle checking campaign, SDM (Dhalbhum) Piyush Sinha, DTO Dinesh Ranjan, SDO Ghatshila Satyaveer Rajak, BDO and CO Baharagoda, CO Ghatshila and officials of Mining Task Force were involved in all police station areas.
Of the seized hives, 9 had sand and 7 had ballast. In which 6 highways are included from Bahragora, 2 from Sundernagar and 8 from Kamalpur police station of Patmada.
District Transport Officer Dinesh Ranjan told that this campaign will be run continuously. Illegal mining and transportation is illegal, it causes loss of revenue to the government. He said that the driver of the seized vehicle could not produce a valid challan of minerals during interrogation, after which all the vehicles were handed over to police custody.
On the other hand, the illegal mining businessmen were in a panic due to the operation of the district administration in the night like this. Vehicle checking was conducted for about 6 hours.
