16 candidates file nominations, 23 purchase forms in Jamshedpur constituencies

Jamshedpur, October 23: A total of 16 candidates from Baharagora, Ghatshila, Potka, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, and Jugsalai constituencies under the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha filed their nominations on Wednesday for the upcoming elections. Among the notable candidates were CPI(M)’s Swapan Kumar Mahato from Baharagora, independent candidates Ram Murmu and Panchanan Soren from Ghatshila, JMM’s Ramdas Soren, and JLKM’s Ramdas Murmu.

In Potka, Mahin Sardar from Bharat Adivasi Party and Ramchandra Tudu from Right to Recall Party filed their papers, while Jugsalai saw nominations from Mohan Lal Rajak (Amra Bengali Party) and Kartik Mukhi (Bharat Adivasi Party). In Jamshedpur East, independent Shivshankar Singh submitted his candidacy, and in Jamshedpur West, journalist Anni Amrita filed as an independent candidate, along with nominations from Krishna Hansda (Bharat Adivasi Party), Kashif Raza Siddiqui (Azad Samaj Party), and independent Vikas Singh.

A total of 23 candidates purchased nomination forms, with five in Baharagora, three in Ghatshila, six in Potka, four in Jugsalai, two in Jamshedpur East, and three in Jamshedpur West. The last date for purchasing and filing nominations is October 25.
