Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district administration has earmarked 150 acres of land for the proposed airport in Dhalbhumgarh. The circle officer of Dhalbhum has sent a proposal in this regard to the state government.
Sources said the earmarked land includes ryot, forest and government land. The expected expenditure in acquiring the said land will be Rs 7.10 crore, sources said.
Defence Ministry has reportedly claimed land for the proposed airport on the basis of Khatiyan of 1932 while the updated Khatiyan of the said land is available on the basis of a survey conducted in 1964. The claims may be clearned only after matching the surveys conducted in 1932 and 1964, sources said.
