Jamshedpur: A 15-day winter sports camp jointly organised by Maa Indravati Sports Academy, Jamshedpur, and Guru Gobind Singh High School, Telco, concluded on December 22, 2025. The camp was held from December 8 to December 22 and aimed to promote sports skills and physical fitness among children.
The closing ceremony was attended by Rajkumar Singh, former Vice-Chairman of the District Council and a noted social worker, as the Chief Guest. Former District Sports Coordinator Shyam Sharma and Guru Gobind Singh High School Principal Pushpa Pandey were present as Guests of Honour. Addressing the gathering, Rajkumar Singh appreciated the initiative and said such training camps play an important role in developing discipline, confidence and sportsmanship among children. He congratulated the sports academy and the school management for organising the camp.
The winter camp provided training in nine sports disciplines, including athletics, badminton, pickleball, ball badminton, handball, volleyball, cricket, Atya-Patya and Kho Kho. A total of 52 children participated in the camp and actively learned the basics and techniques of various games under trained instructors. The participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the camp and enjoyed the learning experience.
During the closing ceremony, all participating children were honoured with certificates and mementos by the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour. The programme was conducted by Birender Kumar Mishra, Secretary of Maa Indravati Sports Academy and sports teacher of the school.
The successful organisation of the camp and its closing ceremony was made possible with the support and efforts of Shyam Sharma, Principal Pushpa Pandey, sports teacher Birender Kumar Mishra, yoga instructor Niranjan Kumar and martial arts instructor Sunil Prasad.
