14th�National Creativity Olympiad kicks off in Steel city

Jamshedpur, Nov. 28: Two-day�National Creativity Olympiad was opened at Institute of Engineers, Sakchi on Saturday, November 28.

The event organized by of Institution of engineers (India), Jamshedpur Local Centre aims to promote science and general knowledge among school students.

Avneesh Gupta, principal executive office Tata Steel was the Chief Guest for the function. The Programme started with Welcome speech by Neeraj Kant, Chairman of the Centre and managing director, Indian Steel and Wire Products (ISWP) was followed by lighting of the lamp by dignitaries.

Mr. Prabal Patra and Mr. Abhishek Kumar briefed the activities related to competitions� which were divided in to two topics given to each teams.� The first task was making and displays an Aero Modeling and Second one was related to water pumping systems. This year 17 out stations team from�Bhailai, Kanpur , Aligarh(UP), Bhubaneswar, Sunabeda (Orissa), Tirupati, Bokaro, Ranchi, ��Narangi Assam,� etc. and eight teams from Jamshedpur are participating in the event.

Students participated in the Direct Domain on Saturday and created models based on the topic �Applications of the Internet in Rural India.� On the second day, there will be 24 teams from 12 city schools under the Open Domain who will attend a workshop on aeronautics and gliders followed manual training on gliders.

Dinesh Prasad, honorary Secretary of the local Centre proposed vote of thanks.
