Jamshedpur: An essential phase in the expansion of the railway network has been set in motion as the construction of the third line connecting Salgajudi Cabin of Tatanagar to Ghatshila has begun. This project, aimed at enhancing rail infrastructure and service capacity, entails pre-non interlocking and interlocking work at various stations, including Ghatsila, Galudih, Rakhamines, Asanboni, and Salgajhori. The 14-day line block, in effect from October 25 to November 7, is a crucial step in the realization of this ambitious endeavor.
Passengers on the Howrah-Tatanagar route may encounter inconveniences during this period, as the operation of several trains will be affected due to the line block. In response to this, Indian Railways initially issued orders to cancel 18 trains and modify the routes of several others, including 12 trains diverted to alternate pathways. However, a revised order has now been released, which minimizes train cancellations and maintains normal operations for most trains.
This project received the green light after being inspected by the Railway General Manager and Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), following which it was submitted for approval. With this approval, the project commenced on October 25. To ensure the efficient completion of the third-line connection, railway officials have been strategically stationed at various stations during the line block.
