Chaibasa, Dec 16: Banking services were impacted in Chaibasa on Thursday as public sector bank employees joined two-day nationwide strike in protest against the privatization and Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill.
On Thursday, bank employees gathered at the post office chowk in Chaibasa and protested against the government and raised slogans. The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), which is an umbrella body of 9 bank unions has called a two-day bank strike starting today to protest the government’s decision to privatise several banks in the country.
The protest rally was taken out under the leadership of Chaibasa Bank of India branch officer Dibar Hembrom and Jagannathpur branch of Bank of India Sanjay Singh. Dibar Hembrom said that 130 bank branches are in operation in West Singhbhum district.
