13 year-old murdered after rape in Chaibasa

Chaibasa, Aug 30: A 13 year-old girl was raped and murdered in Pandrashali police station area of Chaibasa in West Singhbhum on Monday evening. Her body was recovered from the bushes this morning. It was sent to MGM Medical College for postmortem examination, sources said.

Police detained one Vijay Singh Banra and his wife of the village in connection with the incident and interrogated them. They recovered a pair of slippers, an umbrella and the slippers and inner wears of a male person from the scene. They suspect the woman was raped and murdered. An FIR has been registered in this connection on the information of the father of the deceased. The deceased was a class VIII student. She had gone to a nearby field with goats. She was reportedly seen with some boys in the evening. She did not return home late night. Her body was recovered in the morning by the villagers.
