13 pairs of weekly superfast trains this July, special train for Deoghar devotees too

Jamshedpur, July 2 : The South Eastern Railway( SER)is geared up to run 13 pairs of weekly superfast special trains between Santragachi and Jabalpur ( in Madhya Pradesh) several of them crossing Tatanagar. The idea is to clear rush of passengers. The trains will run from July 5 to September 28.

According to officials of South Eastern Railway, the Santragachi-Jabalpur Superfast Special will leave Santragachi at 8.40 pm every Thursday. The train will reach Jabalpur at 3.10 pm, the next day. In the return direction, the train will leave Jabalpur at 8.55 pm every Wednesday and it will arrive Santragachi at 4 pm, the next day.

The train between Santragachi and Jabalpur will reach Tatanagar railway station at 12.15 am on Friday while the return train from Jabalpur will arrive at the Tatanagar railway station on Thursday at 11.55 am. On both the to- and- fro journey the train will halt for five minutes at the Tatanagar railway station.

The special trains consisting of one composite coach (AC 2-tier-cum-AC 3-tier), one AC 3-tier, ten sleeper class and four general second class coaches will have stoppages at Raigarh, Champa, Bilaspur, Pendra Road, Annupur, Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni South and Sihora stations enroute.

Earlier, the SER in a separate circular had announced a special train between Tatanagar and Jasidih for devotees to go to Deoghar for offering prayers at the famous Babadham Temple during the holy month of Shravan. The train will chug on its maiden journey on July 7 and will continue to run for one month till August 8.

The train would halt at Chandil, Barabhum, Purulia, Anara, Madhukunda, Burnpur, Adityapur, Kandra, Kunki, Manikui, Nimdih, Urma, Bero and some other stations between Asansol and Jasidih.

�Considering the rush of the passengers the decision was taken to introduce the train for clearing the rush of devotees heading for Deoghar,� said a spokesperson of South Eastern Railway.

In addition to this, the railway is also contemplating to attach one additional coach each to the Tatanagar-Chapra and South Bihar Express, which witnesses huge rush of devotees throughout the holy month of Shravan.” Apart from introducing the special train we will also provide the facility of additional coaches with an aim to ease the rush of devotees on Bihar-bound trains during the festival month,” said the official.

Railway sources said that Garden Reach will soon come out with a circular announcing the halt of passenger trains at Mahadevshal in West Singhbhum, where a grand fair is organised at the Shiva temple.

Every year, the Tata-Bilaspur Passenger, Bilaspur-Tata Passenger ( Dn), South Bihar Express, Tata-Allepey Express and few other trains halt at Mahadevshal during the month of Shravan .
