Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district education department is going to merge 112 primary and middle schools with other nearby schools. The department has prepared a list of schools that are going to be merged.
A meeting of District Elementary Education Committee would be held in this regard on 7th October under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner (DC) Amit Kumar. The meeting would also be attended by the MP of Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato, all MLAs and members of the committee.
State education secretary Aradhana Patnayak has directed the education department to merge schools having a low strength of students with other schools in their nearby locations. Earlier, in 2015, 41 such schools were merged with other schools.
