Ranchi, August 22: Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma directed all municipal bodies to construct toilets at war footing level.
She said to ensure daily review of toilet construction and speed up disposal of application and transfer of funds. She said it while directing all municipal commissioners, chief executive officers and city managers through video conferencing in Ranchi on Monday.
Verma said that a campaign should be run from 25th August to 3rd September to construct toilets. At the same time it should be also ensured that no wards remain without toilets.
She directed the city managers to coordinate with the ward councilors and release funds after reviewing the application. She said that beneficiaries should be monitored if they are constructing toilets or not and those who have started construction, 2nd installment of the fund should be transferred in to their account.
Reviewing the Prime Minister Housing Scheme the CS said that first installment of fund should be released to those applicants who have completed till plinth level.
Before any installment, every construction should be done with zero tagging. She asked to verify the bonafide beneficiaries and remove the false ones from the list. She directed to do ward wise profiling of city managers� work.
It was also directed that city managers should go to the construction site in the second half and send report to the department.
Regarding training of boys/girls in different trades under NULM, the CS directed to start training work from selected agencies. She also said to ensure that the training program should be imparted through able trainers and the center should be installed with CCTV. 49,000 candidates have been selected out of the targeted 60,000 youths in different trades in 2016-17. Training for 16,000 probationers has been started.
Reviewing the AMRIT Project the CS said that work should be done to clean municipal bodies and database of every 15 days should be documented to be sent to the Union Govt.
It should be noted that the Govt. of India will conduct survey of 9 municipal bodies which include Hazaribag, Ranchi, Adityapur, Giridih, Chas, Deoghar and Mango.
She said that biometric attendance of sanitation staff and door to door garbage collection should be done fast and the funds received under 14th finance commission should be expensed timely.
Urban Development Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Singh and Urban Development Director along with other officers were present in the meeting.
