Jamshedpur, March 7: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy raised the issue of giving ownership rights to sublease bastis at the state assembly.
“I raised the issue at the assembly and the speaker reply is satisfactory. I hope the government will take step in this direction,” said Saryu Roy in a release.
Today the government has called a meeting in Jamshedpur this afternoon to consider the regularization of 59 sub-lease plots given irregularly about 14 years ago on the basis of the unconstitutional provision of clause-8 of the Tata Lease Renewal Agreement in East Singhbhum district. The erstwhile Deputy Commissioners of the government and outgoing revenue secretaries of the government are also going to participate.
“The house took cognizance of this irregularity in 2008 on my calling attention notice. But the government failed to give a legal solution to it. Subsequently, the issue of granting ownership rights to the residents of the settlements outside the Tata Lease area, the settlements that remained within the Tata Lease area and the settlements on Government land outside and within the Tata Lease area has also not been resolved by the Government so far. Is. As a result, the residents of Jamshedpur are facing difficulties due to mutual disputes, non-availability of public facilities and non-availability of holding numbers of buildings built on such plots, they are finding it difficult to live and their fundamental rights are being violated,” Roy said in a release as having raised the issue in the assembly.
“The government holding a meeting to regularize the buildings built on only 59 sub-leased plots and not to include similar problems of common people in the subject matter of the meeting is not in accordance with the statutory and public interest. While requesting the Government to give a concrete statement on this subject in the House, I want to inform this to the House with the hope that the Government will work to solve the problems of similar nature in the same administrative unit,” the release stated Roy as having raised in the assembly.
