Jamshedpur, September 7: A 50-year-old Basudev Gorai, resident of Dimna Basti Upper Tola under Ulidih police station, died due to drowning in the pond.
The incident happened on Wednesday. However, Basudev’s body was taken out of the pond on Thursday morning. The police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. Deceased Basudev used to earn his living by working as a labourer.
According to reports, on Wednesday he had gone with his partner to drink liquor at the liquor shop. Both of them went to take bath in the nearby pond in an intoxicated condition.
Late in the evening, Basudev companion went to the police station and informed the police, but due to darkness, the dead body could not be removed.
On Thursday morning Basudev’s body came over the pond, after which the body was taken out of the pond.
