From cultural performances to scientific exhibits, students celebrate the legacy of world leaders in art and innovation.

Students honour Lata Mangeshkar, Marie Curie, Florence Nightingale, and John McCarthy through art, innovation, and learning

Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Kavyapta Global School hosted its much-awaited annual event, Zindagi Fest 2025, on October 16 and 17, with the inspiring theme “Voices of Change.” The two-day celebration paid tribute to four remarkable changemakers — Lata Mangeshkar, Marie Curie, Florence Nightingale, and John McCarthy — whose contributions in music, science, healthcare, and technology continue to influence generations.

The fest aimed to help students learn from these global icons through creative performances, research-based projects, and interactive exhibits that combined knowledge with imagination.

Day 1: Cultural Performances Bring Legends to Life

The opening day was filled with colours, music, and enthusiasm as students from Nursery to Grade 6 presented captivating performances depicting the lives and achievements of the four honourees. Through dances, songs, and skits, the young participants showcased creativity and confidence, winning the admiration of the audience.

The event began with Principal Director Kabita Agrawal’s welcome address, in which she highlighted how Zindagi Fest, started in 2015, has grown into a celebration of inclusive learning and self-expression. “This platform encourages students to think deeply, act creatively, and connect learning with real-life inspiration,” she said.

Creative Director Sunita Sinha expressed pride in the teamwork of students, parents, and teachers, noting that the collective spirit makes each edition of Zindagi Fest more memorable.

The chief guests for the inaugural day included Banna Gupta, former Jharkhand Health Minister; Rajiv Kumar, Vice President, Amossys Consulting Services; Anindita Chakraborty, Principal Scientist (R&D), Tata Steel; and Dr. Swati Soren, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Kolhan University.

Speaking at the event, Banna Gupta praised the school’s initiative and the enthusiasm of the students. “Children are like clay, constantly evolving and growing. Events like this shape their creativity and values in remarkable ways,” he remarked.

Day 2: Exhibition Highlights Innovation and Discovery

The second day of Zindagi Fest turned the school into a vibrant hub of innovation, where students from Grades 7 to 12 showcased their research projects and models inspired by the fest’s theme. The exhibitions blended science, art, and storytelling to present the achievements of the four celebrated personalities.

Students created interactive displays on Marie Curie’s groundbreaking scientific experiments, Lata Mangeshkar’s enduring musical legacy, and Florence Nightingale’s humanitarian work in modern nursing. Another section focused on John McCarthy’s contributions to Artificial Intelligence, illustrating how his vision continues to shape modern technology.

The guests for the exhibition day included Dr. Sanjay Patro, Dean (Academics), XLRI; Vijay Anand Moonka, former President, Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Subhrajit Basu, Assistant Vice President, Tata Business Excellence Group; Rajiv Kumar, Vice President, Amossys Consulting Services; and Dr. Swati Soren.

Reflections from the Fest

Parents, students, and teachers expressed pride and joy in being part of the unique celebration.
Parent Sana Amreen said, “I’ve been associated with this school for a decade and have seen Zindagi Fest evolve beautifully. The school helps children explore the lives of great individuals through creative and meaningful learning.”

Grade X student Shifa Masroor, who portrayed Florence Nightingale, said, “This experience helped me understand her compassion and courage. At Kavyapta, we are encouraged to follow similar values of empathy and service.”

Teacher Nidhi Agarwal added, “Through this year’s theme, students learnt humility, teamwork, and innovation. They used recycled materials and worked collaboratively — that’s what makes Zindagi Fest so special.”
