Jamshedpur, March 15: The East Singhbum Zila Parishad held its general meeting at the Zila Parishad office on Sakchi Thakurbari Road on Tuesday to approve schemes worth Rs. 110,208.
While almost all members of the parishad attended the meet, mining and forest department officials abstained. They were served show-cause notices.
The meeting discussed several issues including health, potable water, education, agriculture, Indira Awas Yojana, labour budget etc.
They set a target of 2217 units for the next fiscal year. The meeting also decided to undertake disability examination camps at the block level and expressed concern over the declining ground water level in Baghbera.
The meeting was attended by zila parishad chairman Bulurani Singh, deputy chairman Rajkumar Singh, DDC Vinod Kumar, member Swapan Kumar Mahato and Sanjiv Sardar. Several officials of the parshad were also present.
