Jamshedpur, Jan 12: Dhwani 2026 – Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond was held at the Michael John Auditorium, bringing together young people from different communities to reflect on local challenges and their role in building a sustainable future.
The two-day programme was designed to listen to youth voices, encourage dialogue, and promote action aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event opened with a prayer song and lamp lighting led by youth, followed by cultural performances, skits, and reflections rooted in lived community experiences.
A key agenda of Dhwani 2026 was to provide safe and inclusive platforms for young people to share their journeys. Sessions such as “SDGs from the Lens of Youth” highlighted stories of determination, leadership, and community initiatives. The programme also recognised grassroots efforts through Zameen Se Udaan, which felicitated young changemakers for their contribution at the local level.
Reflective sessions titled “My Life, My Choices: A Balance Sheet for the Future” by Mr. Dilip Patel encouraged youth to think deeply about personal values, life choices, and responsibility towards society. Creative platforms like Mera Manch Mera Mann allowed young participants to express social realities through theatre and storytelling. Listening Posts enabled by colleagues of the Foundation during breaks helped capture youth voices through informal conversations and reflections.
Day 2 began with Badlao Ke Doot, a cleanliness and plantation drive, reinforcing the importance of action on the ground. Interactive sessions such as “From Community Action to Collective Impact” brought youth into dialogue with experienced practitioners, while a session on GPDP–LSDG convergence highlighted how village-level planning can align with global development goals.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates, a vote of thanks, and a collective pledge by youth to continue working for positive change in their communities.
