Chaibasa, March 24: A 22-year-old youth was shot dead while celebrating Mage festival in Badbil village of Mufassil police station area of West Singhbhum district.
The deceased has been identified as Nirmal Banra, a resident of Banamagutu (Chiru) village of Mufassil police station area. Currently, the youth was staying in Chaibasa Sufalsai and preparing for competitive exams. The reason for the murder is said to be mutual enmity. Nirmal was sleeping at a friend’s house.
According to the information, on Sunday, Nirmal had gone to Badbil village with his friend to celebrate Mage festival. Where dancing and singing was going on in the arena located in the village at night. Nirmal was sleeping at his friend Renso Hembram’s house at night when suddenly someone fired a bullet. Nirmal was shot in the left chest.
He got injured and died on the spot.
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police reached the village and took the body in their custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital Chaibasa for postmortem. On the statement of the deceased’s father Kujari Banra, a case has been registered against unknown person in Mufassil police station. Police has started investigating the matter.
