Noamundi: A youth was shot dead late yesterday night by unidentified assailants near Oriya Talab area under Noamundi PS.
Sources said the assailants opened fire on the deceased, identified as Sunny Lohar, with a country made revolver from close range.
The deceased was a resident of Kumhar Toli, Noamundi. The police recovered the body this morning and found a country-made revolver from the spot.
In this connection, police have taken three suspects in custody for interrogation. Sources said, “Sunny had gone to Bhatti Sai along with his two friends.
They consumed mahua between 9pm and 11 pm near a wine shop. They walked together as they drank till late night. Next morning, Sunny’s body was found near the pond.”
