Jamshedpur, Sep 26: To demonstrate discontent, youth activists took to the streets to protest against alleged rigging in the CGL examination conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). On Thursday, hundreds of demonstrators, led by BJYM Jamshedpur Metropolitan President Nitish Kumar, marched from the District BJP office in Sakchi to the Jubilee Park roundabout, voicing their outrage against Chief Minister Hemant Soren by burning his effigy.
The protesters expressed their anger over what they termed cheating against students in the examination process. “The government is playing with the future of the youth. The internet was shut down across the state to facilitate irregularities during the JSSC examination, jeopardizing the future of deserving candidates,” stated Nitish Kumar.
BJP Jamshedpur Metropolitan President Sudhanshu Ojha criticized the Hemant government for its alleged failure, asserting, “By rigging an important examination like JSSC, the government has once again proved its incompetence. If an impartial CBI inquiry is not conducted soon and strict action is not taken against the culprits, this movement will escalate further.”
Kumar further highlighted specific irregularities, saying, “In many examination centres, including Ranchi and Dhanbad, outside candidates received the answer sheets beforehand. The seals of question papers were found open at several centres. Shutting down the internet service clearly shows the government’s involvement in this scam.”
He firmly warned, “Any fraudulent actions against the youth will not be tolerated anymore. The government must be held accountable in every situation.”
The protest saw participation from notable figures including former District President Dinesh Kumar, Dr. Rajiv, Dharmendra Prasad, and other local BJP workers, underscoring the widespread dissatisfaction with the current administration’s handling of the examination process.
