Youth Hostels Association of India Jamshedpur unit executive meeting announces election for 2024-2027 term

Jamshedpur, July 2: An important meeting of the Jamshedpur Unit Executive of the Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) was held today in the Sabha Bhawan located in Birsanagar Ganesh Mandir premises in Telco, Jamshedpur. The meeting was chaired by Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Secretary of the Youth Hostels Association of India.

In his address, Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sahu emphasized the necessity of conducting elections for all units of Jharkhand as per the organization’s rules, as instructed by the President of the Jharkhand State Branch of YHAI. The elections for the Jamshedpur unit for the upcoming 2024-2027 session were formally announced to take place on 1st September 2024. The deadline for nominations has been set for 2nd August 2024, with the last date for scrutiny on 12th August 2024.

Elections will be conducted under the supervision of an observer appointed by the Jharkhand State branch of YHAI. Nominations are invited for various posts within the Jamshedpur Unit, with the election venue confirmed at the Gram Vikas Kendra’s auditorium in Telco, Jamshedpur. Members interested in participating in the election process are encouraged to do so to strengthen the organization.

During the meeting, it was also decided to initiate a membership campaign to bolster the Jamshedpur unit. The responsibility for this campaign was assigned to dedicated members. Additionally, a tree plantation date was set for August, targeting schools in rural areas.

Treasurer A. Bhi Narayan of the Jharkhand branch of YHAI attended the meeting as a special guest. The proceedings were conducted by organization secretary Gopal Mahato, with a vote of thanks delivered by senior member Natan Kumar Bose. Executive members Bolai Das, Devraj Das, and Shyam Kumar Sharma significantly contributed to the success of the program.

Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sahu highlighted that YHAI organizes various programs throughout the year, including trekking, mountaineering, cycling, biking, rock climbing, adventure sports, environmental awareness initiatives, tree plantation, and painting and speech competitions.
