Youth dies after being shot with arrow in West Singhbhum, FIR lodged

Jamshedpur, Aug 18: A 27 year old youth, identified as Mathura Sirka, was shot to death with an arrow by unidentified persons in Kundrijhor village under Jeteya police station of West Singhbhum late Friday night. Cops learnt about the incident on Sunday.

Sources said the youth died at the scene after being critically wounded in chest by the arrow. The incident took place late night. The body of the deceased was recovered from the village this morning. Cops sent it to the government hospital for postmortem examination.

According to police, the deceased worked in Chennai. He reached Manoharpur Wednesday last and sent to his friend�s house in Gangda for a stayover. On 16th August, he returned hom. Around 6.30 pm, Sirka went towards the forest to answer nature�s call. Just then, unidentified assailants shot arrow in his chest.

Roya Sirka, brother of the deceased, said his brother had no enmity with anyone.

An FIR has been lodged against unidentified persons in this connection. Cops said an investigation was on to identify the killers.
