Jamshedpur: Members of Jharkhand State Youth Congress Committee put up a demonstration before Jamshedpur Collectorate here on Thursday to demand a number of civic amenities during Durga Puja.
Leading the agitation, state Youth Congress secretary Rakesh Sahu said the district administration should ensure cleanliness in and around various puja venues in the city. He said the administration should make foolproof arrangements to tighten noose around criminals. Illumination of all streets and continuous water and power supply should be ensured, he said.
�The administration should take steps to make the puja safe for everyone, especially women and children. All public toilets should be cleaned and dustbins should be provided wherever needed,� said Sahu.
A delegation of Youth Congress leaders led by Sahu met Deputy Development Commissioner of East Singhbhum, B Maheshwari.
Among others present during the agitation included Amar Kumar Mishra, Aman Mishra, Baldev Singh, Gautam Kumar, Rohit Sharma, Mukesh Yadav and Vinay Singh.
