Jamshedpur: Members of Jharkhand State Youth Congress Committee remembered the former Prime Minister of India late Indira Gandhi on her 33rd death anniversary and Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel on his 142nd birth anniversary.
The outfit tmembers, led by the state secretary Rakesh Sahu, paid floral tributes to the two leaders and took a pledge to follow in their footsteps. The chief guest of the programme was union leader Raghunath Pandey. He said the contributions of Sardar Patel to the country’s freedom struggle and its polity were historic and unforgettable. He appealed to youths to follow the great leader’s principles.
Addressing the gathering, Sahu said the Narendra Modi government had insulted Indira Gandhi by not observing her death anniversary. He said the government had ignored the contributions made to India’s freedom struggle. He said all countrymen should take inspiration from the life of Indira Gandhi.
Among those present on the occasion included Nalini Sinha, Akhilesh Yadav, Sanjeev Ranjan, Surendra Sharma, Sibu Singh, Saurabh Jha, Kamlesh Sao, Arun Patel, Paresh Mukhi, Rohit Sharma and Gautam Sahu.
