Youth Congress candidates launch campaign before polls

Jamshedpur: Countdown has begun for the Youth Congress Committee elections across six assembly constituencies of East Singhbhum.

Contesting for the post of state general secretary, Rakesh Sahu here on Thursday launched a door-to-door campaign in the city. The election will start on 2nd July and conclude on 4th July.

Sahu also visited Tilak Pustakalaya, the district Congress headquarters, with his supporters and inspected the ballot box. District election officer of the party, Dr Ravindra Kumar Ravi, held a meeting with party leaders and sought assistance from district administration in setting up control office, deployment of magistrate and police force and installation of CCTV cameras at the polling booth.

Congress leaders said the election will take place in all the blocks of the district. In the city, it will be held at Tilak Pustakalaya and Cable Town Officers Club.

Among those who accompanied Sahu today included Sanatan Bhagat, Ashish Mukhi, Sonu Singh, Sonu Tiwary, Gopal Yadav, Krishna Prasad, Rohit Singh, Bijendra Sao and Atul Gupta.
