Jamshedpur : Youth Congress activists burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Raghubar Das here on Wednesday at Anna Chowk in Govindpur to demand ownership right for the residents of the 86 slums of Jamshedpur.
Leading the agitation, state Youth Congress secretary Rakesh Sahu said the state government had walked back on its promise by not giving ownership right to the people. Sahu alleged that the CM had announced to give lease to the people on government and Khasmahal land and not ownership right as promised by them. He said the CM should admit that he had failed to provide ownership to the residents of the 86 bastis of Jamshedpur.
The Youth Congress leaders raised anti-government slogans on the occasion. They included Surendra Sharma, Sachin Yadav, Suraj Yadav, Hitesh Tiwary and Amit Kumar.
