Jamshedpur
A wave of sensation and panic gripped the Ulidih Outpost (OP) area early Sunday morning after the body of a 24-year-old youth was discovered dumped in the bushes near the local Adivasi Club.
The deceased has been identified as Vikas Singh, a resident of Road Number 2, Shankosai. Local residents spotted the body hidden among the bushes and immediately alerted the police. Upon receiving the information, police personnel alongside the victim’s family rushed to the spot.
Multiple Injuries Found
Preliminary investigations reveal that Vikas was subjected to a brutal attack. Severe wound marks caused by a sharp weapon were found on his head, along with several other injury marks distributed across his body. Given the nature of the wounds, authorities strongly suspect it to be a case of murder. The police have taken custody of the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
Last Seen Visiting Family
According to the victim’s brother, Vikas had left home on Saturday night to visit his nephew in Ulidih. After meeting him, Vikas left to return home but never arrived. The family grew anxious overnight, and their worst fears were confirmed on Sunday morning when a local young woman called them to report that his body had been found.
Drug Addicts Under the Scanner
While the police are probing the matter from all possible angles, the victim’s brother has explicitly voiced suspicions regarding a few local drug addicts operating in the area, hinting at their potential involvement in the crime. Further investigation is underway to identify the culprits and establish the motive behind the gruesome killing.
