Youth benefit from CM’s Self-Employment Scheme

Ranchi, June 17: Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s simplification of the employment generation scheme has proven to be a boon for self-employed individuals from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, backward classes, and minority communities. The revamped scheme has empowered them to not only create self-employment opportunities but also generate jobs for others. Over the past two financial years of 2021-22 and 2022-23, the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme has disbursed loans totaling Rs 104.97 crore to 6,272 youth across the state. Furthermore, the scheme aims to benefit approximately two lakh young individuals in the upcoming financial year of 2023-24. East Singhbhum district has witnessed the highest number of beneficiaries under this scheme. A total of 940 youth in the district have availed themselves of the benefits, receiving a sum of 6.26 crores for self-employment ventures. Similarly, in Dumka, 657 youth were granted loans amounting to Rs 11.66 crore to support their entrepreneurial pursuits. Hazaribagh district saw 567 youth receiving a loan of Rs 7.31 crore for self-employment initiatives.
