Youth beheads villager, roams with severed head in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 2: A chilling incident unfolded in Kudlung village, under the jurisdiction of MGM police station in East Singhbhum district, where a youth reportedly beheaded a person and roamed around the village with the severed head. The gruesome act shocked the local community.

The youth, identified as Mithun, allegedly killed a person and then proceeded to carry the victim’s head while wandering through the village. Upon returning home, Mithun’s family members apprehended him and alerted the authorities.

Law enforcement promptly responded to the call and apprehended the suspect, subsequently launching an investigation into the horrific incident. The victim, identified as 60-year-old Nitai Mahato, had left his home early in the morning, purportedly to pick mangoes.

Upon learning of the tragedy, the victim’s son, Prahlad Mahato, arrived at the scene. Prahlad described his father as a non-working individual, with his mother being the sole provider through vegetable sales.

The distance between Nitai Mahato’s residence and Mithun’s house, where the gruesome act occurred, is approximately half a kilometer. The motive behind Mithun’s actions remains under investigation by the authorities.

The police have detained Mithun for further questioning, and the victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination
