YI Jamshedpur Chapter: Empowering Youth and Building a Better Future

Jamshedpur, Aug 19: In a quiet corner of Jamshedpur, a dynamic group of young individuals is quietly shaping the future through their diverse initiatives under the banner of Young Indians (Yi). Yi Jamshedpur Chapter stands as a shining example of youth leadership, thought leadership, and nation-building, with a strong commitment to driving positive change in their community and beyond.
At the core of Yi’s mission lies the cultivation of youth leadership. Through various projects, they empower young minds to become catalysts for change. The chapter has successfully completed 8 pond excavation projects within a 25 km radius of Jamshedpur, directly impacting about 2000 households. By engaging with schools, they educate children about climate change, instilling in them the significance of environmental protection.
Yi Jamshedpur’s efforts extend to education and awareness in critical areas. Project Masoon focuses on educating school children about child sexual abuse, reaching over 4000 students in a single year. In their project “Chota Cop,” the chapter imparts road safety knowledge, equipping students with essential skills to become responsible drivers in the future.
Nation-building is a pillar Yi Jamshedpur takes seriously. Their “Project Accessibility” reaches out to the visually impaired by supporting the Jharkhand Blind Women’s Cricket Team. They’ve also contributed to the local community by providing Braille menus to restaurants, thereby promoting inclusivity. Additionally, they assist differently-abled individuals with product marketing, aiming to positively impact their lives.
The chapter fosters entrepreneurship and innovation through events like Y20 and Future 3.0, where students are exposed to the evolving landscape of technology and lifestyle. They also extend their influence to schools, conducting design thinking sessions that encourage students to think creatively.
Yi Jamshedpur takes an active role in promoting health and learning. Annual blood collection drives and health camps benefit underprivileged individuals, demonstrating their commitment to holistic well-being. Furthermore, the chapter conducts various educational sessions, including CV building, financial literacy, and cash flow management, preparing young minds for a successful future.
Yi Jamshedpur’s impact goes beyond local boundaries. The chapter’s participation in the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (YEA) in Delhi is a testament to their global influence. Founder member Vishal Agarwalla’s role as the national sherpa for G20 YEA showcases their dedication to international collaboration and diplomacy.
“In a world that demands action and change, Yi Jamshedpur Chapter stands as a beacon of hope, proving that the energy and drive of young individuals can transform communities and shape a brighter future. Through their projects and initiatives, they not only address pressing issues but also inspire others to join the movement of positive change, ” said Pratik Agrawal, chair, CII YI, Jamshedpur.
