Yasin Ustad state handball championship begins in Jamshedpur on Nov 1

 

Jamshedpur, Oct 31: The third Yasin Ustad State Handball Championship will kick off on November 1 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, organized jointly by the East Singhbhum District Handball Association and the Jharkhand State Handball Association. The two-day tournament will feature 17 teams from across the state competing for the championship title.

The tournament trophy was unveiled on Wednesday at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in the presence of Tata Steel Sports Department Head Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Jharkhand State Handball Association Secretary Khurshid Khan, Treasurer Firoz Khan, Babu Bhai, and Sarfaraz Ahmed. On the occasion, the official Jamshedpur team T-shirt was also launched.

A total of 31 matches will be played over the two days. The winner and runner-up teams will receive trophies and medals, while the losing semi-finalists will share the third position. Ten referees have been appointed to officiate the matches.

An organizing committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Khurshid Khan to oversee the tournament’s arrangements. Committee members include Shahbaz Khan, Syed Tariq, Rajendra Kumar, Azhar Hussain (Tipu), Azim Khan, Wasi-ul-Hasan, Tausif Khan, and Saheb Ali.
