XLRI to organise National Industrial Relations Conference

Jamshedpur, Jan 7: The changing workforce and transforming IR Scenario of today shall be thrown open for discussion in XLRI, Jamshedpur soon.

And the initiative is being taken in the form of a National Industrial Relations Conference by [email protected], the students committee of the campus which deals with matters related to industrial relations.

The conference is going to host some of the biggest names from arenas as diverse as Industry, academics and the state and will be providing a common forum to all to voice their views and opinions on issues that plague the Industrial relations of India.

Some of the big names to be present as a part of the two day conference include –K. Ramkumar, executive director on the Board of ICICI Bank, Prasenjit Bose, a leading columnist and social activist, E.A.Ramaswamy, a former professor in the Delhi University and an expert in labour and trade union with many books to his names, Alfred Osta, senior VP- human resources, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mr Karthik Shekhar, general secretary of UNITES Professionals.

The students of Forum for Industrial Relations at XLRI ([email protected]), through this conference, aim to not only spread awareness about the topic of the changing workforce of today but also to bring together some of the most experienced people in the field of IR together.

The conference is going to shed light on some of the most pertinent aspects of Management in an era of Globalization and the changing expectations and aspirations of the workforce of today.

It is heartening to see the youth pick up these issues and begin questioning the current thought leaders. To be able to bring together such a vast and highly revered panel of speakers and guests by a handful of students, is highly commendable.

This is the 6th edition of the National IR Conference, but it is in its biggest form yet and we expect it to create some waves on the 11th and 12th of this January, when the conference takes centre stage at XLRI, Jamshedpur.

[email protected] Team of XLRI is one of the few committees across B-Schools of the country that focuses entirely on promotion of Industrial Relations.

The committee plays an active role in organizing events which act as a source of promotion for Industrial relations.

Apart from organizing several intra-college and inter-college events, the committee also organizes a National Industrial Relations Conference which sees participation from the some of the biggest names in the world of IR.
