Session on Mental and Emotional Well-being Held at Loyola School, Telco
Jamshedpur, April 12: Loyola School, Telco, organized an impactful session on mental health and emotional well-being for students of Classes 9 and 10, aimed at equipping them with essential tools to manage emotional challenges and build psychological resilience.
The session was led by Dr. Pooja Mohanty, Head Clinical Psychotherapist at XLRI, Jamshedpur, and Barkha Gabri, Assistant Psychiatrist. Both experts brought valuable insights and compassionate perspectives, leaving a lasting impression on the young audience.

Dr. Mohanty, an alumna of NIMHANS, Bangalore, and a certified specialist in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy from Oxford University, addressed key issues such as suicide prevention, academic stress, and adolescent mental well-being. “Understand and prioritize mental health,” she urged students, emphasizing emotional awareness, empathy, and inner strength as foundations for a balanced life.

Barkha Gabri, known for her work in stress management, depression, addiction, and adolescent issues, shared practical coping strategies specifically designed for teenagers. She also highlighted the importance of inclusivity, stressing the need for a safe and supportive school environment for LGBTQ students.
The interactive session encouraged open dialogue, self-reflection, and emotional insight, allowing students to freely express their thoughts in a non-judgmental atmosphere.
Principal Charanjeet Ohson, Administrator Fr Gerry, Coordinators Reshma and Zeenat Maria, and the entire teaching staff expressed heartfelt gratitude to the speakers for their dedication to promoting mental wellness. The session marked a significant step in Loyola School’s ongoing efforts to create a more emotionally resilient and empathetic student community.
