Jamshedpur, Jan 17: The professors of Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur, will soon be imparting cyber security training to police officers of Jharkhand.
Sources said the professors of the premier B-school will also be working on the problem-solving aptitude of police officers. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) is going to be signed between XLRI and Jharkhand Police in this regard. As per the plan, IPS officers, DSPs and Inspectors would get the training. A course is being designed especially for this purpose, said Father S George, Director, XLRI.
“Jharkhand Police had sent a proposal for training its officers recently. We have accepted it. A high-level meeting was held in Ranchi on Monday. A training module would be designed and the course would start soon,” said the Director.
Earlier, IAS officres of the state and Army jawans have been given training at XLRI.
Cyber security has become a major challenge for Jharkhand Police. Jamtara has turned out to be a hub of cyber crimes and captured national and international headlines. Last year 613 cyber crime cases were registered in Jamtara and 417 accused were arrested.
