XLRI Jamshedpur celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with festivities

Jamshedpur: The vibrant campus of XLRI Jamshedpur came alive with devotion, colors and the spirit of togetherness as students, faculty and staff celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great fervor at the XLRI Jamshedpur Campus.

What makes this celebration special is the way it unites students hailing from every corner of India from Maharashtra to Kerala, Gujarat to West Bengal, Odisha to Tamil Nadu, and the Northeast. Away from home, they recreate the warmth of their traditions right here on campus, making XLRI a melting pot of faith, diversity and brotherhood.

The festivities began with the Pran Pratishtha and Pooja, performed with the same authenticity as in any household or temple. Students themselves, taking on the role of priests, conducted the rituals with meticulous attention – chanting mantras, offering flowers and invoking Lord Ganesha’s blessings. The campus echoed with the sounds of “Ganpati Bappa Morya”, as the student committee JMAXI (Jai Maharashtra Association of XLRI) coordinated every aspect of the celebration with heartfelt devotion.

The rituals were followed by the distribution of authentic prasad prepared with love, ensuring that everyone – students, faculty, staff and their families – shared in the sweetness of the festival. The atmosphere grew even more electric during the Maha Aarti, where hundreds joined in, singing and clapping in unison, holding diyas that lit up the evening in a golden glow of faith and fraternity.

On the second day, the celebrations will be concluded with the Visarjan ceremony, where the idol of Lord Ganesha will be immersed amidst chants, music and dancing – symbolizing both joy and the hope that “Bappa” will return next year to bless XLRI again.

Speaking about the event, PR & Branding Officer expressed how the festival has become a bridge between home and campus life. “Here at XLRI, students celebrate not just Ganesh Chaturthi but the unity of India itself. Every festival becomes ours, every tradition becomes shared,” Ashish Singh remarked with pride.

The celebration truly reflected XLRI’s ethos of ‘Excellence with Integrity’ and ‘For the Greater Good’, as the institution fosters not only academic brilliance but also cultural inclusivity, values and human connection.

Through such celebrations, XLRI once again reaffirmed its identity as more than just a B-school – it is a family where traditions are honoured, diversity is celebrated, and the spirit of brotherhood shines the brightest.
