XLRI Jamshedpur alumnus appointed Deputy National Security Advisor

Jamshedpur, Dec 28: XLRI alumnus Vikram Misri has been appointed as the new Deputy National Security Advisor. A former student of PGDBM Batch – 1986 has been appointed to the coveted post. India’s envoy to China for practically three years until earlier this month, Vikram Misri has been appointed as the subsequent Deputy National Security Advisor. Prior to this, he served as the envoy to China till December 11, 2021. He has also served as the private secretary to then Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral, to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and also to Narendra Modi in 2014. He was also a part of various Indian Missions abroad in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.

He was also under secretary in the office of I K Gujral from November 1996 to April 1997, when Gujral was external affairs minister. Later, he became private secretary to Gujral when the latter became prime minister, from April 1997 to March 1998
