XLRI awards PhD degree to Jamshedpur’s Debashree

Jamshedpur, April 4:  Debashree Roy Bhattacharjee,  assistant professor (Marketing) at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, has been awarded a PhD (Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) in Marketing by Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur.

Debashree did research work on the topic ‘Role of consumer self-congruity and inclusive advertisements on consumer engagement’.

She received the degree from  TV Narendran, CEO & MD, Tata Steel  and Chairman, XLRI, during the 67th annual convocation held at Tata Auditorium on Tuesday. She is the only PhD candidate from Jamshedpur this year.

Jamshedpur’s Debashree in the course of study (Academic year 2018-2022) published three international journals. Alumnus of Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) Debashree also presented papers in international conferences including ANZMAC held in Australia and marketing conference in Spain.

She completed B.Sc. (Hons.) from Women’s College and pursued MBA from Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM),Kolkata.

The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) at XLRI is a full-time, residential doctoral programme offering studies in different fields of management and functional areas.

The FPM offered by XLRI Jamshedpur is recognized as equivalent to the Ph.D. programme of an Indian University by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

The FPM at XLRI is an intense and rigorous full-time study programme that typically takes about four years.
