XITE College hosts seminar on ‘Decoding the Union Interim Budget 2024’

Jamshedpur: In a bid to unravel the intricacies of the Union Interim Budget 2024, the Department of Economics at XITE College organized a thought-provoking seminar under the theme “Decoding the Union Interim Budget 2024”. The event garnered significant interest from both students and faculty members of the department.

Dr. Sanchita Ghosh Chowdhury, the Coordinator of the Department, extended a warm welcome to the attendees, emphasizing the seminar’s objective to provide profound insights into various facets of the Interim Budget, aligned with the overarching theme of “Viksit Bharat”. The seminar aimed to delve into the opportunities and benefits for the nation, its citizens, and the welfare of distinct focus groups encompassing the impoverished, women, youth, and farmers.

Students from different semesters showcased their expertise by shedding light on diverse aspects of the budget.  Anil Jojowar,  Melwyn David,  Lavish Boipai,  Pragya B. Kujur,  Jaya Mardi,  Ayush Bhengra, and  Shreya Munduiya eloquently discussed topics ranging from education, capital expenditure, startups, and entrepreneurship to budget deficit, manufacturing, taxes, and defense budget.

Dr. Radha Mahali, a distinguished faculty member, offered her insights on the interim budget’s role in India’s long-term goals and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), envisioning the nation’s trajectory towards becoming a developed entity by 2047. The seminar culminated in an interactive session, where the audience actively engaged with the speakers, posing queries and offering verbal feedback.

 Supriya Mohanty extended gratitude on behalf of the participants, acknowledging the efforts invested in organizing the seminar.  Ashwini V. Purty orchestrated the event as the Master of the Ceremony. Fr. (Dr.) E.A. Francis, S.J., Principal, and Fr. (Dr.) Mukti Clarence, S.J., Vice-Principal of XITE College commended the Department of Economics for orchestrating a successful and enlightening seminar.
