Xavier School to start class IX from March 2015

Jamshedpur, Jan 9: Xavier School, Gamharia is a unit of Xavier Institute for tribal Education a registered society and is run by the Jesuit fathers of Jamshedpur.

It was started on April 16, 2012 with the sole purpose of providing quality education to all sections of people in and near Adityapur Gamharia with an emphasis of empowering the local tribal population. In order to prepare the tribal students, Pre –K.G classes are conducted from the beginning, said Fr. Kuruvilla V, S.J, Principal, Xavier School, Gamharia addressing the press conference on Saturday.

He further informed that the school has crossed several milestones in its journey. It is today one of the leading and fast growing schools of Adityapur-Gamharia industrial belt. Within a span of 2 years 9 months of its existence, the school has earned reputation for quality and discipline.

The school is now affiliated to the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. The School Code no. is JH097. The present strength of the school is 1190. Std. IX will begin in March 2015. The first batch of students will appear for the ICSE board examinations in March 2017.

It is a school with a difference. Like other Jesuit schools, it is committed to instill in the students the values of love for God and the service of mankind. The Joy of Giving week from 24th to 29th of November 2014 was a unique opportunity given to the students to show their love for the poor.
