Seraikela: World Population Day was celebrated with fervor at Sadar Hospital, Seraikela, on Tuesday. The chief guest of the occasion was the deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Chhavi Ranjan.
In his address, the DC said every citizen should play their role in controlling the fast growing population of the country. He said India’s population could exceed that of China’s in case it was not controlled soon. He said the health department staff, especially the sahiyas, could play an instrumental role in controlling population through family planning initiatives of the government.
Dr AP Sinha said tubectomy was on in every block of the district. He said the family planning initiatives were being implemented all over the district.
