Jamshedpur, March 1: As the birth anniversary of Tata Steel founder JN Tata approaches, Jubilee Park is being bedecked with elaborate lighting arrangements in preparation for the Founder’s Day celebrations.

The event will be inaugurated by Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran on the evening of March 2. Notably, 50 intersections, historical buildings, and key locations across the city have been decorated in glorification of Foundation Day.

The electrical decoration at Jubilee Park, set to commemorate the 185th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, will commence at 6:30 pm on March 2.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Technology for People and Planet.’ Additionally, a laser show will be operational at Jubilee Park from March 3 to March 5.

The decorative light bonanza extends beyond Jubilee Park, with over 50 significant sites in Jamshedpur, including heritage buildings, places of worship, and roundabouts, set to be illuminated. Furthermore, seven other parks, including Dorabji Tata Park, Postal Park, Birsa Munda Park, Bhatia Park, Nildih Park, Ramnagar Park, and New Baridih Park (Pandey Maidan), will also be lit up for the occasion.

The electrical decoration at Jubilee Park will be on display from March 3 to March 5, allowing pedestrians to enjoy the spectacle from 5 pm to 10 pm and those on vehicles from 10 pm to 11:30 pm.

Tata Steel and Tata Steel UISL have organized extensive lighting arrangements across the city, continuing the tradition of grand celebrations on Founder’s Day.

The list of activities being organised on Founder’s Day 2024:
- Homage to the Founder at Jubilee Park on March 2. Park will be opened for citizens from March 3-5.
- Founder’s Day Celebrations at Jamshedpur Works on March 3
- Founder’s Day Programme at Postal Park, Bistupur on March 3
- Exhibition at Steelennium Hall inside Jamshedpur Works on March 3
- TechEx 2024, the 14thScience and Technology Exhibition at SNTI from March 2- 5
- Founder’s Day Sports at JRD Tata Sports Complex and Gopal Maidan on March 2-3

TechEx 2024 to be inaugurated at SNTI today
The 14th Science and Technology Exhibition 2024 (popularly known as Tech-Ex) will be held at SNTI. The exhibition will be around this year’s theme of Founder’s Day celebrations “Technology for People & Planet”. The young minds of SNTI (Management Trainees, Junior Engineer Trainees, Trade Apprentices), employees of Tis group companies and students from various colleges will display their skills and competence in various technological fields. A total of 40 projects will be on display out of which 25 are prepared by the cadre trainees of Tata Steel. The exhibition will be inaugurated on March 2 and will be available for all to visit from March 3-5, 2024, from 9 am to 6 pm.
