World Forestry, Water and Bhagat Singh Martyrdom Day observed at Al Kabir Polytechnic

Jamshedpur, March 21: “Along with technological progress, effort must be made to conserve water and preserve nature. At this juncture, we should not forget the supreme sacrifice of Bhagat Singh who set the zeal for India’s freedom among the citizens of Mother India. We respect and honour Shahid Bhagat Singh and renew our pledge to protect our motherland on his martyrdom day,” observed Al Kabir Polytechnic College Principal, Waris S Imam.

He was speaking during a programme organized at the institution’s premises on the occasion of World Forestry Day, World Water Day and Martyrdom Day of Shahid Bhagat Singh. The Horticulture Club of the college organized an awareness and plantation programme for protection of forests. M Venkat presented a report of the survey of trees and plants undertaken by students in the Institute. Ada anchored the program.

College students planted fruit trees like Ashok, Guava, Mango, Sapota and Litchi and flowering plants. Students wrote slogans and made posters on forest and water conservation. On the eve of World Water Day, the members of Water Conservation Committee of the Institute, pasted posters related to water conservation and took a pledge to stop wastage of water.
