World Earth Day celebration at Telco Siksha Niketan School

Jamshedpur, April 22: Nature Conservation Day was celebrated on the occasion of World Earth Day at Siksha Niketan School in Telco. The programme was held between April 18 and April 22. As per programme set by Koru Foundation, an NGO, five types of waste were collected during the five days of the celebration of World Earth Day. The students between Classes I and 12 of the school participated in the drive. School Principal Sumita Dey along with teachers Mausami Banerjee, Ranjana Sharma, Nairata Rai and Shalini Sharma contributed significantly in the Earth Day celebrations.

A play on World Earth Day was enacted after the Morning Prayer session. The students made posters and brought saplings from their homes and planted them in the school premises. School Principal Sumita Dey encouraged the children by explaining to them and the importance of trees and plants in sustaining life. The students took a vow to make the earth green. Vice-Principal Rajni Pandey and other teachers were also present during the celebration of World Earth Day.
